I hadn't heard about the northern lights/aurora borealis being visible across most of the UK until it was actually happening on Friday 10th May, so popped outside and took this photo from our garden at about 11.30pm. I tried with a couple of "proper" cameras but the results weren't great, but my Samsung S23 produced this image in its "night mode" setting.

First, I stopped at my local camera store to buy a new lens I had been dreaming about (14-24mm f2.8). Then I drove to Minnesota to meet up with another photographer.
